Chapter 11 case study report

I. Statement of the problem

A. Binge Drinking

B. Colorado college student, Jack Donohue, joined the fraternity of college. When Jack had hazing, Jack drunk a great deal of alcohol by force besides, the fraternity leader put the shot glass to jack’s lip although jack was sleeping. Next day, Jack had many trouble because of binge drinking. Jack do not want to drink a lot so Jack was concerned about How should I do this fraternity situation.


II. Suggestion of possible solutions.
A. Give up the Gamma Delta Chi member
B. Adjust to Gamma Delta Chi’s rule
C. Keep the member without heavy drinking


III. Evaluation of possible solutions.

A. Give up the Gamma Delta Chi member
1. Adv: Jack do not need to suffer from binge drinking by force
2. Dis: Although Jack was looking forward to be activity in fraternity, Jack cannot enjoy in college fraternity.

B. Adjust to Gamma Delta Chi’s rule
1. Adv: Jack can enjoy in college fraternity and can meet many friends.
2. Dis: Because of the fraternity member, Jack should drink a lot by force. It is bad for health and study.

C. Keep the member without heavy drinking
1. Adv: Jack can enjoy in college fraternity more than he thought and can do suitable drinking without by force.
2. Dis: Jack should persuade to fraternity member so that Jack become exception member. So, other members can dislike that.


IV. Selection of a solution
A. My choice is solution C.

B. In high school, Jack was nerd person and missed out on lots of fun. So, Jack really wanted to participate in fraternity of college. Binge drinking is rule of the fraternity but it is not law and there are students who seem to Jack. Therefore, Jack had better notice to leader and other member his situation and passion of member such as his drinking capacity or plan in fraternity so that Enjoying each other.
